The Church is in the process of “Growing in Vision”. Tim is using his first year in post to encourage the Church to be attentive to what God is doing, to spend time listening in prayer, to dreaming, praying and sharing ideas. This process, will include re-thinking our values, the culture we want to shape and the behaviours we want to normalise.
Our priorities for 2023/24 have been shaped by the need to do the right things well, as we grow in Vision. They will be re-evaluate but we are currently making good progress with them:
- “Grow Younger” – we have a heart to be an ‘intergenerational’ Church and have made a number of intentional changes to make younger families feel welcome. We are really encouraged by what has been achieved and excited by our plans to recruit a couple of Children’s & Youth roles.
- “Go Deeper” – we want take seriously the need to practice being with Jesus and becoming more like him. This includes giving more space to the work of the Holy Spirit. Linked to this priority is also the aim to grow deeper with one another, as we encourage more people to belong to Life Groups, shape a culture of sharing stories and gather more regularly as one church.
- “Reach Further and Wider” – Church is more than simply the walls of the building. We want to take Jesus into all corners of our lives, connecting with more and more people. We want to create more local partnerships and links, as well as global ones. There is much that we can still do, but already we are starting to see the fruit of local partnerships.
