Music at St. Stephen’s always tries to include a variety of styles, and to encourage people from all backgrounds to take part.
The 9am Sunday service is typically a more traditional style, with hymns and organ or piano accompaniment. The 10.45am Sunday service is covered by two worship teams using mainly modern worship songs backed by guitars, drums, keyboard, clarinet and alto saxophone.
There is also a band which plays for the 10.45am service on the first Sunday in the month. This includes a range of instruments and singers, including keyboard, flute, drums, cello, bass guitar and alto sax.
We also try to include music from around the world and from different spiritual centres, such as Iona and Taize.
We also enjoy other musical events through the year, which involve people who are not in the regular group: such as a Family Concert in September and a Carol Service with augmented choir in December.
The worship teams rehearse on Thursdays at 8pm in the Cross. The band rehearses Wednesday fortnightly in the Cross at 6pm.
New musicians are always welcome so, if you would like to know more, please contact Andy Rigby for more information at
