People and Organisations that the church supports

St Stephen's Church gives away 10% of the money donated by its congregation. The money is used to support Christian missionary work, both here and abroad. The church also helps through prayer and encouragement, keeping in contact by telephone and e-mail.
We support people who work for organisations such as the Church Missionary Society, and more about their work can be found on their website at www.cms-uk.org   

We also support the International Community Church in Derby, which works with immigrants and asylum seekers from many different countries.

A couple who have been working in Kyrgyzstan for a few years now, have been supported by keeping in touch and seeking to encourage them. Their ministry is based in several houses in the village of Seraphimovka.  Conditions in the village are very harsh, and they now have a house in Bishkek, the Capital city (which looks sizeable on Google Earth) which is several miles away.

The couple's primary focus is on the needs of ‘the addicted’, which inevitably brings them into contact with difficult people often with an HIV/AIDS dimension.  They work with both Teen Challenge and WEC (Worldwide Evangelism Crusade). 

Sometimes members of the church are able to visit the countries where the work is taking place, including Rwanda in Africa and Chennai in India.
